Ingredients

Stromboli Filling

  • 1 lb store-bought pizza dough
  • 8 oz deli ham sliced thin
  • 2 cups whole milk mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 4 oz provolone cheese sliced or shredded
  • 1/2 cup roasted red peppers drained and chopped
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

For Assembly & Serving

  • 1 egg beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1–1.5 cups marinara sauce for serving

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Mixing bowl
  • Rolling pin
  • Knife
  • Pastry brush
  • Measuring cups
  • Measuring spoons

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Let the pizza dough sit at room temperature for 5–10 minutes to soften slightly for easier rolling.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the mozzarella, provolone, roasted red peppers, parsley, garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Stir until evenly mixed.
  • Lightly flour a clean surface and roll the pizza dough into a rectangle measuring approximately 12 inches by 10 inches.
  • Arrange the sliced ham evenly over the dough, leaving a 1/2-inch border around the edges.
  • Spread the cheese and roasted pepper mixture over the ham layer, ensuring the edges remain clear for sealing.
  • Starting from one long side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam closed and fold the ends under to seal the stromboli completely.
  • Place the stromboli seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the surface with the beaten egg wash for a golden finish.
  • Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese inside is melted and bubbly.
  • Let the stromboli rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Serve warm with marinara sauce for dipping.
