  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk 14 oz / 395 g
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup crushed chocolate cookies
  • ½ cup crispy rice cereal
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Chocolate shavings for garnish
  • Crushed cookies for garnish
  • Mini chocolate pieces for garnish

Instructions
 

  • In a saucepan, combine the milk, condensed milk, cornstarch, and cocoa powder. Whisk until smooth.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly until the mixture begins to thicken.
  • Add the chopped chocolate and vanilla extract. Stir until the chocolate is completely melted and the mixture becomes creamy.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  • In a separate bowl, mix the crushed cookies, crispy rice cereal, and melted butter.
  • Spread half of the crunchy mixture into the bottom of a serving dish.
  • Pour the chocolate cream over the crunchy layer.
  • Top with the remaining crunchy mixture.
  • Refrigerate for at least 3 hours or until fully set.
  • Garnish with chocolate shavings and extra cookie crumbs before serving.
