Greek Yogurt Brownies

Sophia
What if your next batch of brownies could be rich, fudgy, and secretly packed with protein? Greek Yogurt Brownies deliver deep chocolate flavor with a fraction of the fat and calories found in traditional recipes. Instead of butter and oil, this recipe uses plain Greek yogurt and unsweetened applesauce to create a moist, dense crumb. Whether you need a quick healthier dessert or a post-workout treat, these brownies come together in one bowl and bake in under 30 minutes. They are not overly sweet, so they work beautifully with toppings or a light dusting of cinnamon.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup almond flour or oat flour

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch pan with parchment paper.
  • Whisk Greek yogurt, applesauce, and eggs until smooth.
  • Sift in cocoa powder and almond flour. Stir until just combined.
  • Spread batter in the prepared pan and bake 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Cool completely before slicing into 9 brownies.

Notes

Avoid overmixing after adding dry ingredients; start checking for doneness at the 20-minute mark. The center should look set but still slightly soft when gently pressed. Residual heat will finish baking as the pan cools.
